an MA author on LiveJournal? [13 Jul 2011|05:53pm]

[ mood | hopeful ]

HI there, wondering if there is anyone out there?

not sure how approriate this is, but I was wondering if anyone knows if the author of The Love of the Jedi, and loneliness of the jedi author Tally is on LJ? I have read her work and was wondering if there is anything here on LJ. Her Obi Wan is one of my favourites I have ever had the pleasure of reading.

If anyone can give me a link to her I would really appreciate it.

Her website is here http://www.angelfire.com/scifi/tallyfiction/ and can be found on ff.net too, as well as M.A.

Anakin slash stories [10 Jun 2011|05:26pm]

I'm not sure if this is allowed, so feel free to delete this if it's not. So, I've been on the website and noticed that almost all of the stories on it are Obi/ Qui stories. I for one would really appreciate it if you had more Anakin Skywalker slash stories . Would love to see more Ani/ Obi & Ani/ Qui stories (especially one's with lifebonds) (however, it's not limited to these pairings). I did look at the "these eyes" Ani/ Bail story & I liked that pairing, so maybe more of those? This may sound silly, but I kind of think it's unfair that there are only a few Anakin slash stories. Please please please put more Anakin slash on the site. Thanks.

[02 Oct 2008|08:06am]

I'm unsure about the suitability of this post. Please delete if inappropriate.

The comm forceknights is set in post-Order 66; lots of room for an all-seeing, all-knowing (but not really) blue ghostie Qui-Gon to shine. The mods are looking for various 'muns' (just learned that word) for play in 'The Invisible Choir', a term for the dead zone. It's more commitment than I can take on, but is anyone interested? I am a watcher only.

A rec: BlackRose's "Silent Legacy." Wow, a blend of Vampire Chronicles and Star Wars. Especially poetic and nice.

Daffy December [31 Dec 2007|10:56pm]

The title of this post uses the word "daffy" in that it is a tribute to the myriad interpretations of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon's relationship in settings from Temple-familiar to completely AR (Alternate Reality). Included are eleven stories, ranging from horrific to parodyish to completely out of the GFFA, all written with downright Masterly talent. The ride starts here:

Nostalgic November [25 Nov 2007|12:28pm]

Nostalgia:  yen, yearning, melancholy ... these are definitions from the thesaurus, but only one of these stories is truly nostalgic, in the sense of  recalling events taking place far in the past, which was my original understanding of the word.  Warning:  Teen sex, though the bottom age is sixteen, no pun intended.  There are three stories here,

Out-Of-Breath (From Laughing) Octet For October [15 Oct 2007|05:12pm]

MasterApprentice.org (or .com, sometimes) has oceans of risible fics.  Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon have loads of layers added to their characters, all from the little half-smile that Qui-Gon gives as he kneels in the Naboo swamp or his abashed look as Watto rejects his mind-control wave and equally from "The negotiations were short" quote from Obi-Wan in the first ten minutes of TPM.  Here are eight of them, starting on the wry side and working up to giddy, way out OOCness:

http://www.masterapprentice.org/archive/c/charitable_deeds.html   Charitable Deeds by Emu and 'chelle.  This fic has Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan doing the deed for charity.  It's second person, but don't let that dissuade "you."  "You" get to direct the action and the whole thing leads up to a broad-smile-worthy ending involving Yoda, but not That Way, in case Yoda is a turnoff.  There must be some Qui-Gon/Yoda out there, outside of Compay Segundo, though.

Sad Stories of Sorrow for September [27 Aug 2007|11:22pm]

M/A is chockful of sadness.  Obi-Wan wants love, is rebuffed by Qui-Gon, who worries about the age difference, the imbalance of power, the wrongness of it all.  Qui-Gon wants love, is downcast by Obi-Wan's promiscuity, his beauteous Padawan's gleeful acceptance of his inner-sex-fiend and the probable Jedi Council problems.  Not to mention the legal ones, if a certain Padawan isn't eighteen yet.  Poor fellows.  In what fandom used to call a "wallow," here are six sad, sad stories.  Warnings galore for character agony and sometimes death.

The first, Poison by Boots, is outrageously told with fierce declarations of a love for Qui-Gon that is painfully rebuffed.  Not even Yoda can understand the emotions galloping through his Temple and there is a resolution that will blind the reader with grief.

"I did NOT have sex with that Padawan." [10 Aug 2007|03:53pm]

Since this is the August Month of Autoerotica, here are five (one for each finger) recs on M/A devoted to the one-handed, all-in-the-mind action genre:

http://www.masterapprentice.com/archive/p/perchance_to_dream_1.html   Perchance to Dream, by Rushlight.  Qui-Gon watches Obi-Wan sleep, a sub-genre itself, and dreams of more than dreaming.  First person warning; I'm normally cool about FP, although it gives a sensual immediacy to this fic's narration.

http://www.masterapprentice.com/archive/d/dawn_patrol.html                     Dawn Patrol, by Briony.  Obi-Wan is the watcher, and watchee Qui-Gon knows.  It gives a small fillip to his performance.  An outdoor frolic, my fave.

By George, I think I've got it! 99.44/100% sure, anyway ... [27 Jun 2007|08:09pm]

In April '06 I had a computer for a few months only and was 'net wandering.  I thought I could remember all the places I stopped to visit.  Ha! on me.  There was a fic, and charming though this one is, this isn't it:

The above is "Fanfic Slashers Field Guide" and the fic I remember takes place in a room of Slashers, all deciding which Qui-Gons and Obi-Wans they want in their fics:  Hairy!Qui, Bashful!Obi, Clueless!Qui, Slutty!Obi, etc., with the characters themselves eventually joining in.  It was terrifically entertaining and not bookmarking was a boo-boo.  This may be the forum to find it and of course, share it.  It pushes that fourth wall way out into a fifth wall.

Chilling rec for A/O fans; two squicky recs for Obi/Qui fans [24 Apr 2007|06:57am]

Hi, everyone: here is a rec for the Ani/Obi fans from the Master/Apprentice archive, a site that will lure you in as surely as a sarlacc needs nourishment every so often.

Link:  http://www.masterapprentice.org/archive/c/crownof.html

Title:  A Crown of Hollow Stars
Author:  Mirabella
Recommended why?:  This is a short, icy piece about Anakin's yearning for Obi-Wan after his Knighting, when everything should have been copacetic, yet there is one barrier:  the memory of Qui-Gon.

Lube Job, by Mrs. Hamill [27 Nov 2005|08:23pm]

Hello there! I'm going to give the first rec on this awesome new comm, yay! Though, in my opinion, the MA Archive isn't nearly as shitty as it's described in the info. It's more like a pile of plastic toys, some of which are more delightful than others.

Title: Lube Job
Author: Mrs. Hamill
Link: http://masterapprentice.org/archive/l/lube.html
Rating: NC-17
Review: There is a line in the Jedi Code about Sancarolita Day, a day on which a padawan can initiate a sexual liaison with his, her, or its Master. Obi-Wan, having discovered it at the tender age of 15, asks Qui-Gon for a sexual liaison. However, to his chagrin, Qui-Gon does not have lube.
Besides being very well written -it is written by Mrs. Hamill, after all- it shows Obi-Wan's adolescence very well. The realistic dialogue and whimsical Qui-Gon give this story its charm. The buildup makes the end that much more satisfying. There is chan (what a weird word) in it, but nothing more than talk happens while Obi-Wan is under 18.
